Fruit stickers

According to 'Food Safety and Standards Authority of India' or 'FSSAI', such stickers are used in different countries of the world to understand the quality, price and process of the fruit. But in India there is no such rule at all. Rather, such stickers are used to cover the defects of the fruit or to prove that the fruit is better than other fruits. Many times customers are asked for higher prices by showing such stickers.

Not only India, misleading consumers through stickers can happen in many other countries as well. So experts say that there is no reason to think that the fruit is good just by seeing the sticker on it.

Moreover, the experts say that there is no special control over the stickers that are used on the fruit. Therefore, some experts think that the chemicals used in this type of glue can be harmful to the fruit and health.

Habits to avoid if you want to become a millionaire

But in all countries of the world, stickers are not meaningless. If there is a four-digit code on the sticker, it means that common fertilizers and pesticides have been used in the production of the fruit, says IFPS. If the code is five digits and the first digit of the code is 8, it means that the product is 'genetically modified'. And if the five-digit code starts with 9, it means that the fruit has been grown in a completely biological manner.
