Taltali upazila BNP convenor Shahidul Haque, his two sons Naeem and Antu, along with BNP leaders and activists, alleged that brave freedom fighter ex-commander Moslem Uddin Hawladar had tortured them.

He complained that his son was framed in a false case after torture.

Meanwhile, the picture of Suman tied to the electricity pole has gone viral on social media. Convenor of BNP Shahidul Haque and his sons involved in the incident have been condemned and demanded punishment.

The incident took place on Sunday evening in front of Shahidul Haque's house in Taltali Bazar.

However, Taltali Upazila BNP convenor Shahidul Haque denied being involved in the incident and said that on September 30, two BNP activists Forkan Hossain Imran and Zahirul Haque were seriously injured by some leaders of Chhatra League and Awami League. Sumon was arrested and handed over to the police in response to the incident. He denied beating him by tying him to an electric pole.

Police sent Suman to Amtali Senior Judicial Magistrate Court on Monday afternoon. On that day he was sent to Barguna Jail through the court.

It is known that on September 30, a beating incident took place due to the election of the Taltali Bazaar Traders Association. In that incident, Dulal Howladar filed a case in Taltali police station in the name of 49 people. Jubo League activist Zafrul Hasan Sumon, son of former freedom fighter commander Moslem Uddin Howlader, was made an unknown accused in that case.

It is known that on Sunday evening, Suman was returning home by car after buying medicine from Taltali market for his parents. As soon as his car arrived in front of Taltali Upazila BNP convener Shahidul Haque's house, Shahidul Haque, his two sons Naeem and Antu were dragged out of the car by several BNP activists. Later, he was tied to an electric pole on the side of the road and beaten severely. They tortured him for about 20-25 minutes. Locals witnessed the torture of Shahidul Haque and his people, but no one dared to protest because of their fear, said some eyewitnesses who did not wish to reveal their names. After the torture, they handed Suman over to the police.

Meanwhile, pictures of Jubo League activist Jafarul Hasan Sumon, son of the freedom fighter commander, being tied to an electric pole went viral on social media. Taltali upazila BNP convenor Shahidul Haque and his two sons have demanded punishment for those involved in the incident.

Zafarul Hasan Sumon, son of freedom fighter commander Moslem Uddin Hawladar, said, on the way home after buying medicine for my parents, upazila BNP convener Shahidul Haque, along with his two sons Naeem and Antu, 10-12 BNP activists took me out of the car and tied me to an electric pole. Later they tortured me. After the torture, they handed me over to the police. I demand punishment for this incident.

OC of Taltali police station. Kalam Khan said, after receiving the news of the beating, Zafrul Hasan Sumon was rescued from the scene and brought to the police station. However, the police did not find him tied to a pole. Suman is an accused in a case under investigation.

He further said that Suman has been sent to Amtali Senior Judicial Magistrate Court.
