Bangladeshi killed in BSF firing at Paharpur border

A Bangladeshi named Kamal Hossain (33) was killed by BSF firing at Paharpur border of Comilla Sadar South. The incident happened on Monday (October 7) around 7 pm.

A Bangladeshi named Kamal Hossain (33) was killed by BSF firing at Paharpur border of Comilla Sadar South. The incident happened on Monday (October 7) around 7 pm.

The deceased Kamal Hossain is the son of Idu Mia of Jolai Kuriapara village of Sadar Dakshin Upazila. Locals said that he used to break ant nests and sell eggs at different places.

Hiron Mia, elder brother of the deceased, said that Kamal Hossain was shot dead by Indian BSF at Paharpur border near Jashpur BGB camp of Golyara Dakshin Union of Comilla Sadar Dakshin Upazila on Monday evening. Later, the BSF took Kamal's body away in an Indian ambulance.

When the company commander of Jashpur BGB camp was contacted about bringing the body, he asked to wait. However, the dead body was not handed over to the family until 1 am, said the deceased's elder brother.

When asked about this, Comilla Battalion 10 BGB captain Lt. Colonel Md. Iftekhar Hossain said, we know that Kamal Hossain went 25 yards inside the Indian border. We initially believe that he was later killed in BSF firing. Trying to contact BSF on our behalf. Tomorrow (Tuesday) there will be talk about bringing back the body.

This BGB official also said that the details will be known after the investigation.
