Durga Puja holiday extended by one more day

He said that notification will be issued on Tuesday (October 8).


Mahfuz told reporters that the puja holiday will be extended by one day. Thursday will also be a holiday for worship. Notification will be given today.

According to the official holiday calendar, next Sunday (October 13) is a holiday for worship. And October 11 and 12 Friday and Saturday are weekends. Government employees are getting a total of four days off on Durga Puja, which was added to this list on Thursday.


Mahfuz said that the government is working to prevent domestic and foreign conspiracies in the country. The government is trying to catch the culprits. No conspirator will be spared.

Meanwhile, colorful preparations are often completed across the country to make the puja joyful. The mood of the festival is now blowing all over the country. Various mandapas are resounding with the sound of drums and brass and conch shells. According to official estimates, Durga Puja will be celebrated in 32,666 mandaps across the country this year.


Security has been beefed up at pujamandaps across the country around the autumn Durga Puja, the main religious festival of Hindus. Law and order forces are on high alert around this year's Durga Puja. On the occasion of this festival, there will be round-the-clock security in the pujamandaps across the country. The Ministry of Home Affairs has already issued a set of instructions for the field administration and law and order forces to keep the law and order situation normal during the upcoming Durga Puja.


A security ring has been built around each mandap. Besides, it has been decided to deploy members of police, BGB, Ansar and VDP, RAB and other forces for round-the-clock security during puja in each mandap. The concerned said that the security forces have been ordered to be on maximum alert from the top level of the law and order forces.


The intelligence surveillance of the law enforcement agencies in plain clothes is going on at the field level regarding the overall situation. Prevention of any rumor is being monitored in cyber space as well. However, SWAT, Bomb Disposal Unit, RAB helicopters and striking force will be ready all the time to deal with any situation. Entrances to important temples will be searched through archways and metal detectors. If necessary, the dog squad unit will sweep the entire area.


On the occasion of Durga Puja, security zones have been set up in every pujamandap across the country including the capital Dhaka. Besides, it has been decided to deploy members of police, BGB, Ansar and VDP, RAB and other forces for round-the-clock security during puja in each mandap. A central control room will be opened at Dhakeshwari Temple Melangan under the initiative of Mahanagara Sarvajanin Puja Committee. Those concerned said that the security forces have been ordered to be on maximum alert from the top level of the law and order forces.

 

On the occasion of Durgotsav, the leaders of Bangladesh Puja Celebration Parishad, Metropolitan Universal Puja Celebration Committee have wished all the citizens of the country irrespective of religion and caste, including the Hindu community, for the autumn Durga Puja.
