Jumbangla Desk: A Bangladeshi youth named Kamal Hossain (32) died in BSF firing at Comilla border. Later BSF personnel took the body to India in an ambulance. The deceased Kamal Hossain is the son of Idu Mia of Jolai Kuriapara village near the incident site. The incident took place at Paharpur border area of ​​Goliara South Union of the upazila around 7 pm on Monday.

 

According to locals, Kamal Hussain crossed the barbed wire fence at the Paharpur border and entered India illegally on Monday evening. He was involved in drug and smuggling. At one stage he was killed on the spot by BSF firing. Later BSF took his body in an ambulance.

However, Hiron Mia, elder brother of the deceased Kamal, said, "My brother was not involved in drugs and smuggling." These allegations are baseless.


Around half past 10 BGB, Commander of Comilla Lieutenant Colonel Md. Iftekhar Hossain confirmed the death of the young man.

He said that when the young man named Kamal Hussain went within 25 yards of India, the BSF members opened fire on him. He died on the spot. Later BSF personnel took the body in an ambulance.
