Two American scientists Victor Ambrose and Gary Ravkun received the Nobel Prize in Medicine or Physiology in 2024. They received the award for their research on the discovery of microRNA and its role in post-transcriptional gene regulation. Their research has revolutionized the understanding of how genes are regulated in multicellular organisms.

Nobel-winning scientists in each category will receive a Nobel medal, a certificate and a total of 11 million or 10 million Swedish krona. And in the categories where there are multiple Nobel laureates, this 10 million Swedish krona will be divided among them.
