A preparatory meeting was held at Bagha on the occasion of Autumn Durga Puja. The meeting was held under the chairmanship of Upazila Executive Officer Tariqul Islam at the Upazila Parishad conference room around 12:30 pm on Monday.

Tariqul Islam seeks everyone's cooperation to celebrate the upcoming Autumn Durga Puja properly and beautifully.
He said, this year, 48 Mandapa Pujas will be held in Bagha Upazila. Which is more than last time. Mandap-based volunteers will work in coordination with police, Ansar members, striking force and mobile team to ensure overall security from idol construction to burial. Avoid the use of intoxicating substances in and around the Pujamandap, fairs/jatras cannot be held in any nearby places without permission.
To ensure the overall safety of the pujamandaps established in the border area, BGB has requested the president and secretary of the pujamandap to keep sufficient amount of water, sand and wet sacks around the pujamandap to ensure fire fighting system in every pujamandap along with precautionary activities/steps.
Assistant Commissioner (Land), Officer-in-charge, Upazila Ansar and VDP Officer (in-charge), President and Secretary of Upazila Puja Celebration Parishad, President and Secretary of Hindu Buddhist, Christian Oikya Parishad, President and Secretary of Pujamandap and eminent persons spoke in the meeting. Agriculture Officer Shafiullah Sultan, Handicapped Aid Center worker Munsur Ali and officials of various departments of the upazila were present.
Upazila Puja Celebration Committee President Sujit Kumar Pandey Baku and General Secretary Apoorba Kumar Saha said that last year Puja was organized in 47 mandaps. Puja has been organized in 48 pavilions this time. OC Abu Siddique said, there is no security concern.
