Meanwhile, expatriate Bangladeshi investigative journalist Zulkarnain Sayer made a post on Facebook late Sunday night mentioning that former police officer Monirul Islam is currently staying in India.

In that post, he said, 'The location of absconding SB chief (former) Monirul Islam has been confirmed by very reliable sources.

He caught Monirul Islam on camera while buying some daily necessities in a grocery store in Connaught Place, Delhi, the capital of India.

It is also known that a significant number of fugitive Bangladeshi politicians and members of the security forces are living in that area. As a friendly country, the Indian government should immediately find them and hand them over to the appropriate authorities in Bangladesh. I am drawing the attention of India in Bangladesh (High Commission of India, Dhaka) in this regard.

Meanwhile, a Dhaka media interviewed this official over the phone on September 18 after allegations of Tk. 25 million were brought from the former prime minister's office in the name of suppressing the anti-discrimination student movement. In that interview, he said, 'I did not run away. don't run away I was in the country, I am in the country.

I will stay in the country in the future. However, I did not return to the government house for the sake of security.'

In the interview, when asked about his current location in India, Monirul Islam told the media on WhatsApp, "I told you correctly that day (September 18), I did not tell a lie." That was true the day I interviewed you. I was in Dhaka, I was in hiding.
