After 27 long years, Mumbai became the champion in Irani Cup. The team won the title under the leadership of Ajinkya Rahane.

Last year's Ranji champions Mumbai won the Irani Cup this time by virtue of being ahead in the first innings. Sarfaraz Khan was the man of the match with a brilliant double century.

The Mumbai Cricket Association felicitated the Ajinkya Rahane-led team that won the Irani Cup on Monday. There, Mumbai Cricket Association secretary Abhay announced a prize of 1 crore rupees for the champion team.

Mumbai cricket team has received 50 lakh rupees as prize money from the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) for winning Irani Cup.

Mumbai captain Ajinkya Rahane said at the reception that there is no secret to success. I believe that the game of cricket belongs to 11 players on the field and 4-5 players off the field. This is not a personal game. All players are equally important.

The Indian star cricketer also said that it is important as a captain to give freedom and confidence to the players. Because all players are match winners according to their abilities. All players have responsibilities. Those sitting outside the field can give inputs to the captain, which the captain from the field cannot think of.
