Reaction of opponents
BJP leader Shamik Bhattacharya said, 'These can no longer be dismissed as isolated incidents. It has become part of the political culture. All criminals are free from fear in an uncontrolled society. This has been linked to the surrender of high-ranking police officials. Criminals think that they can do whatever they want with the Trinamool flag.
CPM leader Sujan Chakraborty thinks, "What is happening in West Bengal, we can no longer show our face." First RG Kar, then Jaynagar, now Potashpur. How dare the criminals? We are in dire straits. On one hand, the mother's lap is empty, on the other hand, the Chief Minister is going down to the festival. Our heads are spinning.''
