Flood situation further worsens in Sherpur; New areas are being flooded. The bodies of two brothers, who went missing in the flow of Chellakhali river dam, have been found in Nalitabari upazila of the district.
Their bodies were recovered from paddy fields in Kutubakura village of Nanni Union of the upazila on Saturday evening. On the other hand, an unidentified body was recovered from Jhenaigati. 6 people died in the flood.
The deceased are Hatem Ali (30) and Alamgir (16), sons of Bachir Uddin of Abhaypur village in the upazila. Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Nalitabari Police Station. Chanwar Hossain confirmed the matter.
It is mentioned that in the last three days, five upazilas in Sherpur have been flooded by the hill slopes coming down from the upstream. So far, more than one and a half lakh people in 20 unions are water-tight. Heavy rain has continued since night.
