Bangladesh's ousted Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, who came to Delhi under dramatic circumstances two months ago, is reportedly still staying in India.

Top Indian government officials have dismissed such reports as 'completely baseless' that he has left Delhi for a Middle Eastern country.

BBC Bengal's correspondent from Delhi says he has spoken to multiple sources in India's foreign and home ministries about the matter in the past 48 hours - and each confirmed that 'Sheikh Hasina is here this week as she was last week!'

India has never officially said where exactly he is in Delhi – but that 'location' has not changed at all in the past few days.

A senior source in Delhi's South Block also told the BBC, 'Whatever the circumstances, Sheikh Hasina is India's honored guest at this point. If he goes to a third country later, there is no reason for us to hide it!'

As a result, Sheikh Hasina has secretly moved to a country like the United Arab Emirates, they are advising to ignore these 'news'.

Various discussions are going on in the past few days regarding the position of former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. On Tuesday, journalists wanted to know about the various statements on social media and various media from the foreign advisor of the interim government of Bangladesh.

In response, the foreign adviser said. Tauhid Hossain said, 'We could not be sure about his location. We searched in Delhi, we searched in Emirates too, no one could give official confirmation.'

Tauhid Hossain said, 'As you have seen, we have also seen that he has probably gone to Ajman. But we have not succeeded in trying to reconfirm it.'
