An official of the Chief Adviser's office told the media that the holiday (Thursday) has been declared by the government's executive order. Notification will be given today. As a result, Durga Puja and weekend are going to be four consecutive days off.
Because next Friday and Saturday are weekends. After that, Sunday is a public holiday on the occasion of Vijaya Dashami of autumn Durga Puja.
Meanwhile, one day leave for worship is increasing, said the chief adviser. Special Assistant to Muhammad Yunus Mahfuz Alam.
He said, the puja holiday will be extended by one day. Thursday will also be a holiday for worship. Notification in this regard will be given today.
Meanwhile, schools and colleges will be closed for 9 days on the occasion of Durga Puja, Fateha e Yazdaham, Lakshmi Puja and Prabarana Purnima. However, the holiday will be extended to 11 days including the weekend.
According to the annual calendar of the Ministry of Education, the autumn Durga Puja holiday will start from next Wednesday (October 9) and will continue till Thursday (October 17). However, since the next two days are Friday and Saturday, the educational institution will open next Sunday (October 20). Among them, Vijaya Dasami holiday will be on October 13, Fateha e Yazdaham holiday on October 15, Lakshmi Puja and Prabarana Purnima holiday on October 16.
