These words were said by Farooq Ahmed's wife Mosha of Kulirkanda village of Sinheshwar union of Phulpur upazila. Khadija Begum (40).

He also said that 300 families of Kulirkanda village are in water-tight condition. No one has received any support so far. Everyone is in trouble.

Elder Haresh Ali (65) of the same village said that the cooking was stopped due to rising water in the house. I have trouble eating. I am not getting any help.

As most of the houses in the upazila were submerged in water, there was a humanitarian disaster.

Locals claim that they have not seen such a flood in the last 30 years.

Almost all the villages of Chandhara, Sinheshwar and Phulpur Union of the upazila have been submerged in water. Besides, most of the villages of Phulpur Municipal Sadar, Rupsi, Balia, Baola, Bhaitkandi and Rambhadrapur Union have been flooded. Aman crops and vegetable crops in these areas have been destroyed. Fishery's fish are washed away. Farmers and locals are living in extreme despair.
