International Desk: US President Joe Biden was supposed to arrive in Germany on Thursday. But he said it would not be right to leave the country because of Hurricane Milton. That is why Biden has canceled his trip to Germany for the time being. Biden said Hurricane Milton is going to be the worst storm of the century according to the forecast of the weather office. That is why all precautionary measures are being taken in advance.

Hurricane Milton

Hurricane Milton has formed over the Gulf of Mexico. On Tuesday (October 8), the US National Weather Service designated the storm as a Category 5 storm. That is, this storm can hit the coast at a speed of 240 km. That's why evacuations have been initiated off the coast of Florida. This information was reported by the German press Deutsche Welle.

Biden said a significant number of government officials had already been sent to the Florida coast. They are working to evacuate people off the coast of Florida to safety. There is apparently a lot of people pouring across the streets in Florida.

Meanwhile, many people are trying to leave Florida and move to other states. Due to which hotel and air fares have increased manifold. Biden has urged hotels and airlines not to raise fares.

The National Hurricane Center earlier downgraded Milton from a category five to four. But on Tuesday it was again identified as a category five storm.

Milton is expected to make landfall in the Tampa Bay area of Florida on Thursday morning (October 10). Sea water can rise up to 20 feet. As a result, people have been evacuated from the entire coastal area. Hurricane Helen made landfall here before. The debris created then has not yet been completely removed. It is also feared that the debris could spread like splinters when Hurricane Milton hits.

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis said the order to leave the coast does not mean leaving the state. All are accommodated within a few miles. At the same time, he said, there is enough provision to fill fuel in the car. However, local people complain that fuel is not available. At least 15 gas stations are empty, they said.

Incidentally, just two weeks ago, the terrible hurricane 'Helen' wreaked havoc in the southeastern United States. It was the deadliest storm to hit the mainland United States since Hurricane Katrina in 2005. At least 225 people were killed. Hundreds of people are missing.

At least 14 people have died in Florida alone. In addition to the loss of life, the hurricane also uprooted numerous trees and power poles in Big Bend and surrounding areas. At the same time many houses were damaged and hundreds of roads were flooded.

And this time, heavy rainfall and flash flooding may occur in central Florida under the influence of Hurricane Milton. In such a situation, local authorities have ordered all people on the west coast of Florida to evacuate to safety.
