Zoom-Bangla Desk: At least six people were injured in two rounds of clashes between BNP and Chhatra Dal leaders and activists in Naogaon's Badalgachi. The clash took place at the upazila headquarters on Tuesday (October 8) night.

The injured are Badalgachi Upazila Chhatra Dal Acting Convener Saju Hossain, Joint Convener Billu Hossain, Sadar Union Chhatra Dal President Risalat Bin Newaz, Adhaipur Union Chhatra Dal President Kawsarul Islam and General Secretary Mustakim Hossain and Chhatra Dal Leader Ruhul Amin.

According to several local and party sources, a gathering of Chhatra Dal workers was held on Monday in Kartikahar school grounds of Badalgachi upazila. Acting convener Saju Hossain called for an emergency meeting on Tuesday evening as the leaders and activists of Upazila Chhatra Dal were not informed about the rally. In the meeting, it was decided to ignore all kinds of groupings and carry out the party program in coordination with the upazila BNP. After the meeting, the Chhatra Dal leaders and activists went to meet BNP leader Zakir Hossain Chowdhury. However, both parties returned after getting involved in an argument. On their way back, when they reached the intersection, Mahadevpur upazila BNP president Rabiul Alam Bullet supported activists and activists of upazila BNP vice-president Zakir Hossain Chowdhury. Saju Hossain, acting convener of Badalgachi Upazila Chhatra Dal, was injured in the clash. An hour and a half later, the Chhatra Dal leaders and activists supported by Bullet ran away and on their way back home, the BNP leaders and activists attacked them again at around 9:30 pm. At least five people were seriously injured.

Saju Hossain, the victim of the attack, said that we were attacked unfairly in two rounds. I have given a written complaint to take organizational action against the attackers. Upazila BNP vice-president Zakir Hossain said that there are three groups of BNP in the upazila. The Chhatra Dal boys who have made allegations against me belong to another group. During the dictatorship of Hasina, they wore shoe garlands in my picture. The party office was locked.

Rabiul Alam Bullet, President of Mahadevpur Upazila BNP said, BNP will take care of Chhatra Dal. Will take good care of them. But the incident of attack on them is very shameful. Those who have caused this unwanted incident have shown their ignorance.

Why did Kareena change herself?

District BNP convener Abu Bakar Siddique Nannu said, I am not aware of any incident of clash between Chhatra Dal and BNP in Badalgashi. No one has filed a written complaint in this regard so far. District BNP will not exempt those involved if such an incident occurs. I will look into the matter.
