Jumbangla Desk: Three teachers have been temporarily suspended in connection with the clash between the students of two schools during the inter-upazila sports competition at Ishwardi Upazila Parishad premises in Pabna.
Upazila Executive Officer (UNO) Subir Kumar Das dismissed three teachers on Wednesday (October 9) afternoon.
The suspended teachers are Mustafa Kamal, assistant teacher of Riaz Uddin High School, Ariful Islam, assistant teacher and Abul Kalam, assistant teacher of Sara Jhowdia High School.
Confirming the dismissal of the three teachers, Ishwardi Upazila Secondary Academic Supervisor Ariful Islam said that a four-member investigation committee has been formed to investigate the matter.
According to local and related sources, on Tuesday (October 8), a clash took place between the students of Riaz Uddin High School and Sara Jhowdia High School during the inter-upazila sports competition at the Upazila Parishad square. 12 people including Upazila Executive Officer Subir Kumar Das, teacher Abul Kalam were injured.
Meanwhile, the angry students vandalized the furniture of a room of the Upazila Parishad. Later, the police arrested an external student with a knife in the incident.
