Chittagong Kings are giving surprises one after another before the players draft of Bangladesh Premier League (BPL). This time Shakib Al Hasan was brought into their team as a big surprise. According to the recent announcement of the Bangladesh Cricket Board - the upcoming eleventh BPL season is scheduled to start from December 27. The draft of the franchise tournament will be held on October 14. Before that, the teams are getting the opportunity to bring the cricketers to the team through direct contract. Chittagong Kings came down to take advantage of that opportunity.

Chittagong confirmed the inclusion of Shakib in a post on the official page of social media Facebook. Along with his picture, the franchise captioned it, 'A legend joins the squad.' The former Tiger captain played for Rangpur Riders in the last season.

Initially, Chittagong signed an agreement with England all-rounder Moeen Ali and Sri Lankan veteran Angelo Mathews. After that, the team of the port city has also held talks with Haider Ali of Pakistan. Chittagong has finally brought home cricketer Shariful Islam to the team. In the last season, he played for the great Dhaka, for whom this left-arm pacer also scored a hat-trick in one match.

Meanwhile, despite the team signing Shakib a decade back in the BPL, there are doubts over his game. His return to the country is still in doubt due to security reasons. Bangladesh will play the Test series against South Africa at home this month. Where Shakib wants to retire from Tests with the first match. For this, however, to ensure security, Sports Advisor Asif Mahmood asked him to confirm his political position. In view of that, Shakib apologized for staying silent in the student movement and came into politics yesterday on Facebook.
