The deceased are Shaon Mridha (32) of Hoglabunia village of Nazirpur upazila, his wife Amena Begum (25), son Abdullah (3) and another son Shahadat (10) and Motaleb (45) of Raghunathpur area of ​​Sherpur Sadar upazila, his wife Sabina Akhter ( 30), daughter Meyamukta (12) and son Swaib (2).

Shawon was returning to Hoglabunia village in Nazirpur upazila of Pirojpur in a private car from Kuakata on Wednesday night. In Sadar Upazila's Gnanasaha area (Noorani Gate), the private car lost control and fell into the canal on the side of the road and drowned.

Later, the locals informed the police and fire service. On receiving the information, the fire service members rescued the 8 people in the car and took them to Pirojpur Sadar Hospital, where the doctor declared them all dead.
