On Friday morning (October 11), the organization working on consumer rights Bangladesh Muthofon Consumers Association made such a claim in a statement sent to the media.

In this, the president of the organization Mohiuddin Ahmed said that the results of the Speed Test Global Index last April 25 showed that the position of Bangladesh has dropped to the 122th position. This is the speed test result of March this year. Whereas in February Bangladesh's position was (according to their data) 106th.

Where our neighboring country India is shown at 16th place. The test showed that the internet download speed was 24.59 Mbps. And the average upload speed was 11.53 Mbps.

He said yesterday (October 10) Speed Test Global Index report revealed that the average download speed in Bangladesh is 27.76 Mbps. And the average upload speed is 11.22 Mbps. Mobile internet latency is shown to be 25 milliseconds.

By reviewing these data, it can be said that Bangladesh has improved in mobile internet. But the speed here is very negligible compared to other places. While the average download speed in UAE is 398 Mbps, in Bangladesh it is 27.76 or 24 Mbps.

Mohiuddin Ahmed also said that the speed of internet has not increased according to the increasing demand of customers. As a result customer dissatisfaction has now reached extreme levels. Even if there is internet data, internet data remains unused due to lack of internet speed.

Just as there are many inequities and crises in the mobile internet service sector, there is a lack of sincerity and accountability of the commission in proper monitoring. Also the quality of service is not increasing due to monopoly of operators or only looking at their business. Because, currently high speed internet is important not only for domestic consumers but also for industrial development and international market expansion.

Therefore, he urged the government to play a special role in this regard.
