Jumbangla Desk: Former Planning Minister MA Mannan has been released on bail. After 20 days of imprisonment, he went to his home Sunamganj from the prison on Thursday afternoon. There, two-time minister Mannan spoke to the media on various topics.

He talked about cases and arrests and politics of Awami League. MA Mannan said, 'From July 24 till today I am staying in my village home Shantiganj. Sometimes I was in prison for 20 days. I was arrested and taken to Sunamganj in a case. August 4 or what trouble happened in Sunamganj.'
The former planning minister said, 'I have not been to Sunamganj city even once in the last three months. I don't have any house in Sunamganj, I don't live there. I am not a leader of Sunamganj Awami League. I am not in any committee of Sunamganj or Awami League of Bangladesh. But yes, I support Awami League.'
He said, 'It is right that I was MP-minister of Awami League. But I had no direct contact with Awami League of Sunamganj. But suddenly I saw that there was a case in my name too.'
He said, 'I was at home without fear. I did not run away, why? A few days after the filing of the case, the SP of Sunamganj came and arrested me on September 19 at 11 pm. I was in jail continuously since that day. First I was in Sunamganj Jail, then Badaghat Jail. For the last two days I was admitted to Osmani Medical for illness. The court kindly granted me bail yesterday.'
The former minister said, 'I never thought I would go to jail. It might be my fault, because I'm stupid. I was tormented in my heart thinking why I went to jail. I didn't do anything. And the case in which I went to jail was filed by a man from Doarabazar. I don't know him. And I was not in Sunamganj city on the day of the incident.'
About getting bail, MA Mannan said, 'I have been considered by the court. Bail granted. I express gratitude. I got bail because the civil society of Sunamganj, the people of my area prayed. Thank you to everyone who made a human chain for me, prayed for me.
