Heart-Attack

Scientists believe that people with blood group 'A', 'B' and 'AB' have more clotting proteins in their body.

Researchers say such findings will help doctors understand who is at risk of heart attack.

The study was presented at the European Society of Cardiology Congress. This report has been prepared after researching about 13 lakh people

Studies have shown that people with blood type other than 'O' have a risk of heart attack of 15 out of 1000 people. On the other hand, those with blood type 'O' have a risk of 14 out of 1000 heart attacks. Although the difference is small, the number is much higher considering the population.

An earlier study found that people with 'AB' blood type had a 23 percent higher risk of heart disease than others.

But apart from blood group there are some other causes of heart attack. These include smoking, being overweight and having an unhealthy lifestyle. Although there is nothing to do with blood type, it is possible to reduce the risk of heart attack by living a healthy lifestyle, researchers say.
