Even though he is so old, his yield has not decreased. The tree bears up to 200 jackfruits in one season. Each jackal weighs 3 to 12 kilograms. The jackfruit flavor of this plant is also unique.

But not only this jackfruit tree. Everywhere you look in Panruti area, you can see only jackfruit trees. The strong smell of jackfruit floats in the air. There are piles of jackfruit in every house, jackfruit is being sold on the street. Local people will have this fruit every day to eat. In Panruti, jackfruit cultivation is done on 800 hectares of land throughout the year. Every year 45-50 thousand metric tons of jackfruit is produced in Panruti. Panruti jackfruit is famous not only in India but also abroad.

Panruti jackfruit is also ahead commercially. This jackfruit is so good in taste and nutritional quality that 95 percent of the jackfruit in bread is exported. As a result, so much money is not wasted in the jackal, to say nothing.

Madras High Court Public Advocate P Sanjay Gandhi filed this plea on behalf of Maligampattu Village Farmers Association. He said, “These jackfruit pods are longer, sweeter and have thicker shells. Such a good koa is not usually seen in every jackal.” Now whether that GI tag matches based on the application, Panruti is waiting.
