Entertainment Desk: Remember Mandakini? In the late eighties, this beautiful girl took the sleep of Asmudrahimachal in a superbold avatar in Raj Kapoor's superhit film 'Ram Teri Ganga Moili'. This was his first film. Mandakini then worked in several Hindi films. Last seen in 'Jordaar' (1996) in Mandakini. Then suddenly he disappeared from the world of showbiz. Mandakini is returning after a gap of 26 years. Courtesy his debut single 'Maa O Maa'. And son Rabbil Thakur is the companion on the new tour.

Mandakini

Mandakini was seen breastfeeding inside a train in a scene from 'Ram Teri Ganga Moili', a scene that was not 'normal' in Hindi films 30 years ago. Didn't he feel awkward as a newcomer? In an exclusive conversation with Hindustan Times at the song launch, the actress said, 'First of all it was shot as a breastfeeding scene, but it didn't actually happen. The way the shot was arranged, it's quite a challenge to explain how the whole scene was shot.

Also technically making my much exposed cleavage in the scene. But it's nothing compared to the kind of body displays that are in pictures today. We shouldn't even talk about that scene. It's a very holy scene, nowadays everything has jou..nata.'

In an interview last year, Padmini Kolhapuri had claimed that after 45 days of shooting for 'Ram Teri Ganga Moili', Raj Kapoor wanted to change the heroine. What is Mandakini's statement about this? The actress bluntly replied, 'I really don't know if Padmini Kolhapuri was offered the role. But the character was eyed by many, but Raj Kapoor chose me because he needed a new face.

Do you regret being absent from the world of showbiz for so many years? Mandakini said with a smile, 'It didn't seem like that. Never thought I didn't want to do any more pictures at that time, I gave up everything. No regrets about your decision….

Mandakini shared the screen with her son Rabbil in the music video of Rishabh Giri's song 'Ma O Ma'. The music video was directed by Mandakini's old friend Sajan Aggarwal. Why did Mandakini choose this as his comeback project? 'Actually I was looking to get back into the world of work, and an old friend, Sajan, sounded the idea. It will take a long time to make a film, I thought why not a music video? Apart from that, there is a strange love in this song. The emotional attitude of the mother is very well portrayed. That's why I said yes without delay.
