Nobuyo Oyama, the voice of Doraemon, the main character of the popular cartoon show Doraemon, has died. Nobuyo's talent agency confirmed his death to CNN on Friday. The singer was 90 years old at the time of his death.

The agency said Nobuyo Oyama died of old age on September 29. His last rites are also done. Only his close relatives attended there.
Although the popularity of Doraemon is widespread, the audience in Bangladesh is mainly used to the Indian language version. But many have also seen the original Japanese version, where Nobuyo's voice can be heard as Doraemon.
Nobuyo voiced Doraemon for nearly 25 years until 2005. After his retirement, other artists took his place, but Doraemon's voice remains his. Other artistes have also tried to give voice like him.

Doraemon is basically a blue cat from a fictional future. Its specialty was a magic pocket. From where he can bring out any kind of sophisticated gadget. One of his well-known gadgets was a special door to travel anywhere in the world. But he used to do them for his faithful friend Navita.
