The mother and father of these six white lions are African lions. They were brought here from Africa. Authorities said all the lions born were male. Their birth weight was only one kilogram.

But in the care of zoo subjects, their weight now stands at 12 kg. They were opened to the public last April. Since then, the number of visitors to the zoo has increased.

Authorities kept the children under close observation for three months. They were given special care. Never before have so many lion cubs been born together anywhere in South Asia. Currently they are being given chicken and beef.

It is better to raise children in as natural an environment as possible. At first the lion cubs got mother's milk but now they can eat meat. These cubs have not been named yet. The zoo authorities think that six names will be accepted from the names suggested by the visitors.

A campaign has started on Facebook. White lions are very rare in nature. They reach maturity at the age of three to four years. Their average life span is only 18 years. Zoo authorities do not want to raise them as pets. It will be ensured that they get a free environment.
