At present, the forest area of Kukuri Mukuri Chare is 8,565 hectares, of which 217 hectares is a wildlife sanctuary. There are about 4,810 hectares of land for settlement and agriculture. Fishing and agriculture are the main occupations of the people living in Char Kukri Mukri.
Char Kukri Mukri has to be reached through the mangrove forest. You can take small local children as companions on this journey. In exchange of 10-20 rupees, they will show you the way to the coconut plantation. Just past the mangrove forest is the ghat, just past a small creek is the coconut plantation camping site.
Although they demand 10 taka per person to buy a few feet. If you want to go to Tarua from there you will get trawler. You can visit the reserve trawler from Tarua, the famous virgin beach.
Those who graze in the mukri are spread out behind the forest, and in front of the river. And in the middle of it, those who want to camp can hang a tent under the shade of trees.
This char is the sanctuary of wild animals. Among the animals seen there are Chitra deer, monkey, wild goat, jackal, wild buffalo-cow, forest cat, forest cock, etc. and as birds and reptiles, the inhabitants of this forest include different species of buck, forest cock, conch, Mathura. , wood peafowl, quail, guinea fowl, bejee, tortoise, forest dog and various kinds of snakes.

How to go char kukri mukri?
Fares for the launch route from Dhaka to Charfashan's Betua Ghat are different. Deck fare is 400 taka while going but 300 taka while returning. Single cabin 1200 and double cabin 2400 taka.
There are two ways to get down to Betua Ghat and get to Char Kukri Mukri. The first is that you have to take an auto to Charfashion Bus Terminal. The fare is Tk 30-40 per person. It will take 20-25 minutes. From Char fashion you can get South Aicher bus to reach Char Kachhiya. The fare is Tk 40 per person. It will take 1 to 1.5 hours.
Get off the bus and take an auto or rickshaw at a fare of Tk 15 per person to reach Kachpiya Ghat. However, we directly booked a rickshaw called Borak and rushed to Kachapiya Ghat. 4 people can easily sit comfortably in the rickshaw. Car rental is Tk 400. There are basically two ways to go from Char Kachpiya to Char Kukri Mukri. You can go on a trawler for 50-60 rupees per person. Local trawlers leave for Char Kukri-Mukri every day at 9 am and 12 noon.
You can leave the trawler by speed boat for 150 taka per person. If the party is heavy and if you are looking for money, you can go even lower. The rent for 3 of us was 400 taka. As you run through the mangrove forests on both sides, you will experience heavenly bliss! Although it takes more than 1 hour by trawler, this journey is only 15 minutes by speed boat.
There are two ways to go from the launch ghat to the camping site coconut garden. By motorcycle or auto. Motorcycle fare is Tk 50 per person and Auto Tk 20-25. After the end of the road, the footpath begins.
Where will you stay?
You can spend the night at Char Kukri Mukri without camping. Charfashan MP Mr. Jacob has government funded rest house. The rent of each room is 2000 taka and 5000 taka. Besides, you can spend the night in home stays at a very low price. But there is no alternative to tent camping to enjoy the beauty of nature. The security here is good enough so there is no need to worry too much about that.
