Jumbangla Desk: Several leaders of the Bangladesh Association of Recruiting Agencies (BAIRA) are planning to build a syndicate again in the Malaysian labor market. Among them are allegations against former Joint General Secretary Fakrul Islam. Those concerned are blaming this leader for the closure of the Malaysian labor market and various crises.

It is alleged that Fakrul Islam was the biggest beneficiary of 10 syndicates in labor recruitment trade in Malaysia during Sheikh Hasina's tenure. Welcome Medical has hired its own medical center for the health examination of workers going to Malaysia. He stole crores of rupees by doing health check of about 70 thousand workers only. There are now at least two licenses listed on the 101 recruiting agency list. His agency and Wellcome Medical Center are also on the list of partner recruiting agencies.

After the labor market was closed on May 31 of this year, he and a few others are trying again to form a strong syndicate to send people to Malaysia in a different formula. Recently, a photo of some of the powerful leaders of a powerful political party in Malaysia went viral on social media. It is known that Fakhrul and his followers were invited on the basis of sponsoring a large amount of money in a political program. Not only that, he met with the Malaysian officials. As the officials there rejected his proposal, he returned to the country claiming himself deprived and started various misdeeds.

A businessman related to manpower export said that Fakhrul is now speaking anti-syndicate to gain sympathy from different quarters to become the president of Baira. But he was always a part of the syndicate and syndicated himself.

Expatriate Bangladeshis complain against Fakhrul that he is pushing the labor market towards destruction by giving wrong and misleading information in various talk shows, social media and mass media. As his statements are spread by his followers in Malaysia, potential employers are turning away Bangladeshi workers.

Bayra members said that his anonymous companies Tribeni International and Celebrity International belong to 101 syndicate. The owner of which is Fakhrul Islam. He is trading in the name of others without using his license directly. Others who do business have one license while his license is 2. Additionally, other traders may have been within the main 101 agency or with affiliated recruiting agencies. Some were just at the medical center. He is the only person everywhere. Those concerned said that because of him and his associate syndicate, wrong messages are being sent about Bangladesh in various countries including Malaysia. The allied recruiting agencies took 3.5 to 4 lakhs from the workers just by cutting a ticket. But they are not coming under the law. Not coming to the attention of the ministry. On the one hand, they are saying that the workers went for 6 lakh taka, and on the other hand, they are saying that they have given 1.5 lakh taka to the 101 recruiting agency members. The authorized agencies have done all the related work including allocation, job, demand letter, verification, visa, BTMEA clearance, employment permit and discharge within Tk 1 lakh 50 thousand. And the associate agencies have made a ticket of 30 to 50 thousand taka and made 4 and a half lakh taka. Businessmen think it is important to bring those leaders under accountability first.

About the complaint, former joint general secretary of Bayra Fakrul Islam said, I am a businessman from Malaysia. It is my right to send workers to Malaysia. I sent workers but I did not syndicate. He said, I will speak to protect the rights of honorable members. I will definitely take responsibility if there is a staff problem somewhere.

It should be noted that 4 lakh 75 thousand 500 laborers went to Malaysia from Bangladesh in just 22 months. These migrant workers have sent remittances of about 3.5 billion dollars to Bangladesh, important for the country in the last 3 years. Chief advisor. With the efforts of Muhammad Yunus, the labor market is going to be opened again. It will increase the country's remittances and our workers will be able to make a significant contribution to the Malaysian economy. But many have expressed fear that this labor market may be under threat due to this dishonest cycle. Source: Jankanth
