Own Correspondent, Gazipur: Six people were injured in a fire caused by an electrical short circuit at Shinepukur Ceramics Factory in Kashimpur, Gazipur. All the injured are gas cylinder repairing workers of that factory.

The accident happened on Friday (October 11) around 11:30 pm. Later six people were rescued and admitted to Sheikh Hasina National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery.
The injured are - Mohammad Rahat (32), Raihan, Md. Rezaul (55), Rupam (33), Md. Tanveer (37) and Md. Farooq (55).
Al-Mamun, who brought the injured to the hospital, said that six workers were working on repairing gas cylinders at Shinepukur Ceramics Factory in Kashimpur's Chakraborty area. At that time, when the electric line was going to be installed, a fire broke out due to a short circuit. The six workers were burnt. Later six people were rescued and admitted to Sheikh Hasina National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery. Now they are being treated under observation.
Rahat and Farooq's house in Barisal was among those burnt. Raihan's and Rezaul's village houses are in Sarishabari upazila of Jamalpur. Rupam is a resident of Maniknagar village in Ishwardi upazila of Pabna. Besides, Tanveer's house is in Khalishpur area of Khulna.
Resident doctor of Sheikh Hasina National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery. Tariqul Islam said that six people were brought to the emergency department last night from Gazipur with burns. Among them, 6 percent of Rupam is burnt, 2 percent of Rezaul is burnt. Besides, 16 percent of Tanveer, 21 percent of Farooq, 44 percent of Raihan and 15 percent of Rahat were burnt. All of them have flame burn injuries.
