Hindu devotees worshiped Goddess Devidurga at Mandapa Mandapam by offering ritual puja and darpan on the Mahanavami Tithi of Autumn Durgotsava on Saturday.

Durga Puja, the biggest religious festival of the Hindu community, started last Wednesday (October 9) with Shasthi Puja.

According to Hindu belief, every autumn Devi Durga leaves Kailash and comes to mortal world as a daughter. Between his 'arrivals and departures' Durgotsava lasts for five days from the sixth to the tenth tithi of the Shukla Paksha of the month of Ashwin.
