The age limit for entry into government jobs is increasing. The review committee in this regard has submitted a report to the government recommending raising the age limit for entry into the service. It recommends 35 years for men and 37 years for women.
A committee was formed on September 30 to review the age limit for entry into government service, headed by Abdul Mueed Chowdhury, former chief secretary of the Public Administration Reform Commission. After a week they recommended to the government.
It is said that the maximum age for applying for government jobs will be 35 years for men and 37 years for women. However, the review committee recommended keeping the retirement age at 59 years. The review committee has made this recommendation taking into account the country's education system, exam pattern and employment opportunities. The final decision in this regard may come in the meeting of the advisory council.
At present the general age of entry into government service is 30 years. However, the maximum age limit for applying for Freedom Fighter's Child Quota is 32 years. A group of job aspirants have been agitating for a long time to raise the age limit for entry into employment to 35 years. After the political change in the country due to student uprising, they have held several programs.
