A fire incident occurred in the medicine department of Sher Bangla Medical College Hospital in Barisal. 7 units of fire service work to control the fire.

This incident took place in the new building of the hospital at 10 am on Sunday, confirmed the deputy director of the hospital. Moniruzzaman Shahin.

He said that at 10 in the morning smoke started coming out from the short circuit in the electrical circuit board on the ground floor of the hospital. The intensity of the wash engulfed the entire 5th floor of the hospital building. Almost 500 patients were brought out immediately. Later, fire service and electricity department people came and brought the situation under control, including disconnecting the electricity, but the smoke did not stop. Currently, patients are kept in the field outside the hospital.

He also said that the work of shifting the patients to the old building of the hospital is going on. Shamim Ahmed, a relative of the patient under treatment at the hospital, said that panic spread between the patient and his relatives after everything was covered in smoke. Everyone rushed out. The hospital authorities said that the situation is currently under control.
