Jumbangla Desk: An imam of a mosque and his two children died after being bitten by vimrul in Mymensingh's Dhobaura. They were attacked by Vimrul on Saturday morning.

The deceased are Maulana Abul Kashem (50), his daughter Labiba Akhtar (8) and son Sifat Ullah (6) of Dudhanai village of the upazila. Abul Kashem Dudhon was the imam of Bazar Jame Masjid.

Father Abul Kashem died on the way to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital at 1 pm on Saturday and Labiba died at Dhobaura Health Complex at 3 pm. On the same day, Sifat Ullah died at Mymensingh Medical College Hospital around 9:30 PM.

According to the police, Abul Kashem was going to the market by boat in the flood water with his daughter Labiba and son Sifat Ullah to fetch wood from Dudhoni market at 10 am on Saturday. A boat got stuck in a bamboo tree next to the house and the house of Vimrul was destroyed. Then Vimrul started attacking them. Later, the locals rescued three of them with serious injuries and took them to the Upazila Health Complex. Father Abul Kashem and son Sifat Ullah were sent to Mymensingh Medical Center due to critical condition.

Officer-in-charge (OC) of Dhobaura police station. Al Mamun Sarkar said, Abul Kashem died at 1 pm on the way to the hospital. Later, daughter Labiba died at Dhobaura Health Complex around 3 pm. Son Sifat Ullah was admitted to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital in critical condition. He also died at around 9:30 pm while undergoing treatment there.

Upazila executive officer Nishat Sharmin went to the house of the deceased and expressed his condolences after receiving the news of this incident. At this time, he gave financial assistance to the families of the deceased.
