At one point, the quota reform movement turned into a round of government collapse. Sheikh Hasina's government fell on August 5 in a student uprising. Later it was decided that the exam will be conducted in the new schedule from August 11. It didn't happen though.

According to Education Board sources, police stations in various areas were attacked on the day of the ouster of the Awami League government. The question paper trunk kept at the police station was damaged. In this situation, instead of August 11, it was decided to hold the postponed exams from September 11.
