The fugitive policemen cannot join, the case is being prepared

Final preparations have already been made for this. On the other hand, operations are underway to arrest the accused police officers in various cases. However, information has been received that most of the officials have left the country.

 

Most of them fled to India. Besides, some have fled to Dubai and America. Among the police officers, the highest number of murder cases have been filed against Haroon Aur Rasheed, the former Chief Spokesperson of the DB. 49 murder cases have been registered against him in different parts of the country including Capital, Narayanganj, Gazipur.

Former IGP Abdullah Al Mamun is in the second position in terms of cases. 41 cases have been registered against him. Former Commissioner of DMP Habibur Rahman is in third place. 37 cases have been registered against him.

Most of the cases are murder cases. In all, a case has been filed against at least 102 people, including officers and constables. Among them are former police officers. Initiatives have been taken to arrest them as accused in the case.

A police official said the police officers accused in the case had allegedly ordered the firing during the anti-discrimination movement.

On their orders, the policemen who were suppressing the movement fired. There is no opportunity to avoid the responsibility of the instructors.

The process of dismissing 187 people has started

The process of dismissal of 187 policemen who did not join the police force after giving notice has started. As a part of this, final preparations have been made for a departmental case against them. A departmental case will be filed soon.

When asked about this, AIG (Media and PR) of Police Headquarters Inamul Haque Sagar told Kal Kantha that a departmental case is under process against those who did not join.

According to police sources, after the fall of the Awami League government on August 5, the policemen went on strike after the attack on police stations in the country. After appointing IG of Police and DMP Commissioner, notice to join the work of policemen was given from the headquarters. All but 187 joined. 136 constables and 51 officers did not attend within the specified time. Officers who have not joined are also not allowed to join. There are cases against the absconding officers in various police stations.

136 constables have also been accused of direct firing. At least 102 former and working policemen are accused in the murder case. They will be arrested. In the meantime, former IGP AKM Shahidul Haque and recently former IGP Chowdhury Abdullah Al Mamun have been arrested and remanded for questioning.

In addition, DB DC Moshiur Rahman, former additional police superintendent of Dhaka district. Abdullahil Kafi, former OC of Jatrabari police station Abul Hasan, former OC of Sylhet Kotwali model police station Moinuddin Shipan and AC Iftekhar have been arrested.


As many cases against fugitives

Among the fugitives, the former Additional Commissioner of Police of DMP Mohammad Haroon Or Rashid is the most talked about. 49 cases have been registered against him in different parts of the country including Capital, Gazipur, Narayanganj. According to various sources, Haroon Or Rashid left for America in mid-August. However, he recently gave an interview to a media outlet from an undisclosed location.

A police official said that raids have been conducted at several possible places to arrest Haroon or Rashid. But he was not found. A case has been filed against 16 people including Harun Or Rashid and the central leader of Sramik League, Kauchar Ahmed Palash, on charges of demanding and beating a businessman in Fatulla of Narayanganj on October 2.

Fatulla Police Station OC Shariful Islam told Kal Kantha yesterday evening that efforts are underway to arrest the accused in the case. However, no arrests have been made so far. In response to a question, he said, this accused (Harun) is absconding.

On the other hand, 37 cases have been filed against the former DMP Commissioner Habibur Rahman. He is also absconding. But no one could confirm his whereabouts.

Apart from this, 29 cases have been filed against DMP Joint Commissioner Biplab Kumar Sarkar. 11 cases have been filed in Dhaka against former SB chief Monirul Islam. There is talk on social media that Monirul Islam has fled to India.

Apart from this, 41 cases against former IGP Chowdhury Abdullah Al Mamun, seven against Shahidul Haque, three against Benazir Ahmed, two against CID Mohammad Ali Mia, five against former Director General of RAB Barrister Haroon Or Rashid, two against former DMP Commissioner Asaduzzaman Mia, former Additional Commissioner of DMP There have been two murder cases against Khandkar Mahid Uddin, two against former DIG Dhaka Range Syed Nurul Islam, five against CTTC Additional Commissioner Asaduzzaman, five against Additional DIG Praloy Kumar Jowardar and eight against DMP Joint Commissioner Mehdi Hasan.

Apart from this, a case has been filed against former DMP Commissioner Khandkar Ghulam Farooq, former Additional IGP Jamil Ahmed, former Director General of RAB M Khurshid Hossain, compulsorily retired Additional IG of Police Headquarters Lutful Kabir, former DIG Khalid Hasan and Ripon Sarab. These cases have been filed on August 5 and earlier in the incident of police firing on students.
