The injured persons are Armaan Ansari (19), Sunil Kumar Yadav (26), Roshan Kumar (25) and Sipahi Kumar. Armaan was shot in the back, Sunil's left hand, Roshan's right knee below and Sepahi's waist. They were rushed to a local private hospital.


Eyewitnesses said unidentified gunmen opened fire at the Durga Puja pandal and fled. They came on two motorcycles.

Hospital doctor Bikas Singh said that two of the injured persons underwent abdominal surgery and the bullets were removed. Their physical condition is stable.

The reason for the attack is not known. However, the police is conducting an operation to arrest the people involved in the incident. Panic has spread among local residents. Extensive security arrangements have been made in the entire area during the festive season.
