At Labani Point of Cox's Bazar beach, idol worshiping of Sanatan religion has been completed in the midst of huge crowd. The special event of the festival, which started from 2 pm on Sunday, was the 'Vijaya Conference', which was held in an orderly manner through religious rituals and speeches by various dignitaries.

It was the last phase of Durga Puja, where worshipers gathered to bid farewell to Mother Durga. On this occasion, about three lakh people flocked to the beach.

The Vijaya conference started at 2 pm at the open stage of Labani Point on Cox's Bazar sea beach. It is organized by Cox's Bazar District Puja Celebration Parishad.

At that time, idols were brought from different pujamandaps of the district one by one by trucks. The idols come from more than half a hundred pavilions of the entire Cox's Bazar district and surrounding areas and gather at Labani Point. The idols are arranged one by one in sand around the stage.


The beach was then crowded with thousands of worshippers, locals and tourists at the venue.

By 3:30 pm, the entire Cox's Bazar beach becomes a gathering place. On the occasion of Pratima Bisarjan, the beaches north of Shaibaal, Kavita Chatwar Point and north of Sea Gal, Sugandha to Kalatali Point are thronged by crowds.

According to the local administration and the organizing committee, more than 3 lakh people participated in the event. Tourists also witness this festival at this time. At around 5:30 pm, preparations are made to immerse the idols in the sea waves.

Around 5:30 pm, thousands of people who had gathered at the open stage at Labani Point chanted 'Maa Durga ki Jai' in unison. After this, the idols were abandoned. One by one the idols are carried forward to the waves of the sea and sacrificed. As the idols began to float in the waves of the beach, there was an emotional atmosphere among the visitors, worshipers and organizers.

Acting President of Cox's Bazar District Puja Celebration Council, Uday Shankar Pal Mithu thanked the people who participated in this grand event and said that the country's largest idol immersion ceremony was completed peacefully at Cox's Bazar beach in the presence of more than 3 lakh people. More than 50 idols are sacrificed in it.

He also said that apart from Cox's Bazar, Idol immersion ceremonies were organized at Bankkhal River in Ramur, Matamuhuri River in Chakria, Sagar and Naf rivers in Teknaf, Inani Beach in Ukhia and Rejundi.

Muhammad Salah Uddin, Deputy Commissioner of Cox's Bazar, was present at the Vijaya conference. who inaugurated the program as the chief guest. RAB-15 captain Lt. Col. HM Sajjad Hossain, Cox's Bazar Superintendent of Police Muhammad Rahmat Ullah, Cox's Bazar Tourist Police SP Mahfuzul Islam, BNP Central Leader and former Member of Parliament Lutfur Rahman Kajol, District BNP General Secretary Shamim Ara Sapna, former Municipal Mayor Sarwar Kamal, District Joint Convenor of AB Party Ghulam Farooq Qaiser and Jamaat leader Shahidul Alam Bahadur among other dignitaries.
