Jumbangla Desk: On the first day of Ma Hilsa Conservation Campaign 2024 on Sunday (October 13), the mobile court fined three fish sellers 3,000 taka and 9,000 taka while selling hilsa on the first day of ban in Hajiganj market in Chandpur. At the same time, 195 kg of hilsa fish in their custody was seized.
Assistant Commissioner (Land) and Executive Magistrate of Hajiganj Upazila Rifat Jahan conducted the mobile court after visiting the sand field in Hajiganj market at around 10 pm on Sunday (October 13).

Hajiganj Upazila Assistant Commissioner (Land) Rifat Jahan said that from October 13 to November 3, a ban has been imposed on catching and buying hilsa. On the first day of selling hilsa fish, three traders of Hajiganj market were fined Tk 9,000 and 195 kg of hilsa fish was seized. The seized hilsa has been distributed to various orphanages in the upazila.
