After the meeting, Jamaat Amir Shafiqur Rahman and Acting High Commissioner addressed a brief press briefing.

They met at 10 am on Tuesday.

Shafiqur Rahman said in the briefing that our meeting today was a very cordial and successful meeting. Here we have discussed in detail the issues related to the existing bilateral interests of the two countries and how we can advance the relationship. We also talked about how the Australian Government can provide meaningful support in the coming days, especially in our skills development programs. We also discussed what further role the Australian government can play as an important development partner of our country.

He also said that many of our people were injured and undergoing treatment in the mass uprising that took place in July-August. I would like to request the Australian government through the Acting High Commissioner of Australia, that the Australian government can cooperate with the treatment of our people who are undergoing treatment after losing their eyes, hands, legs and limbs. We also hope that in the future the Australian government will work for the development, progress and prosperity of Bangladesh, Inshallah.
