Jumbangla Desk: The results of HSC and equivalent examinations will be published tomorrow Tuesday (October 15). The chairpersons of the respective education boards will announce the results.

HSC

According to the Ministry of Education, the results of the HSC examination will be published simultaneously from the respective institutes and online at around 11 am. This time the chairmen of each education board will announce the results.

At other times, the Prime Minister would formally inaugurate the results release process. However, this time the chief advisor of the interim government is not doing so, according to board sources.

It has already been decided, on the basis of SSC or equivalent examination marks (subject mapping) that the result of HSC or equivalent examination will be canceled midway. In this regard, the president of the inter-education board coordination committee, Tapan Kumar Sarkar, said that the answer sheets of the subjects that have been tested will be evaluated and the results will be published. And for those subjects which have not been tested, the results will be published on the basis of SSC or equivalent examination results by subject mapping.

There is a policy for topic mapping. In this process the marks obtained by a student in a subject in SSC, if that subject is in HSC, the entire marks obtained in SSC will be taken into consideration. And if there is a difference in subjects in SSC and HSC and equivalent examinations, the result will be published considering the marks as per subject mapping policy.

The HSC or equivalent examination started on June 30 last. After the seven exams, the movement to reform the quota system in government jobs spread. In this situation, the examination was postponed several times. Six subject exams were left till then. Besides, the practical exam is also left. At one point, the quota reform movement took the form of a round of government collapse. Sheikh Hasina's government fell on August 5 in a student uprising. Later it was decided that the exam will be conducted in the new schedule from August 11. It didn't happen though.

On the day of the fall of the Sheikh Hasina government, police stations in various areas were attacked. The question paper trunk kept at the police station was damaged. In this situation, instead of August 11, it was decided to hold the postponed exams from September 11. But many of the candidates joined the movement. They claimed that due to the prevailing circumstances, the fact that the examination has been suspended for an indefinite period has put them under stress. So the remaining tests have to be cancelled. At one stage the postponed exams were canceled in the face of agitation.

This time the total number of HSC or equivalent candidates was 14 lakh 50 thousand 790 people. In seven subjects marks are evaluated but in 13 subjects results are generated through subject mapping. That means 'auto pass' has been given in 13 subjects. Still, 96 thousand 997 people were absent in the examinations held under 9 General Boards, Madrasas and Technical Education Boards. 297 people were expelled.
