Jumbangla Desk: Common people are disoriented in the unbridled egg market. The price is not decreasing at all. Another bad news found in the egg market! On Sunday (October 13), no truck could bring eggs from Tenzhgao. As a result, the buyers and sellers fear that there will be a shortage of eggs in the capital.

The then government allowed the import last September to keep the price of eggs within the reach of the consumer. Then the price is fixed. In view of that, retail eggs are supposed to be sold at 11 taka 87 paisa per piece. But the reality is different. The consumer has to count more than 15 rupees for each piece of egg!

A buyer who came to the caravan market said, 'we common people can't go to fish and meat! We need the egg. At least the tail of the egg should be reduced.'

Another said, 'If the price increases like this, how can I eat eggs! I used to eat eggs every day. Now I said at home, I will eat two days a week.'

Meanwhile, traders have stopped the collection on the pretext of not being able to buy and sell eggs at the price set by the government. On Sunday, no truck went anywhere in the country from Tenzhgao in the capital to bring eggs.

Business leaders say egg collection will be stopped until the market normalizes.

Amanat Ullah Aman, President of Tejgaon Egg Traders Association, said, 'The Ministry of Animal Resources has officially set a rate. But we cannot buy eggs at the fixed price.'

He said, "In this situation, we stopped the car out of respect for the law."

According to the calculations of traders, if the supply to Tejgaon is stopped, there will be a shortage of 15-20 lakh pieces of eggs in the capital every day.
