AHSC results in a grading system
The grading system in HSC examination is based on Grade Point Average (GPA). Grades range from A+ to F (Fail) depending on the marks obtained in each subject. The overall GPA for a student is the average of all grades earned in different subjects.
Marks Range Grade Grade Point
80-100 A+ 5.00
70-79 A 4.00
60-69 A- 3.50
50-59 B 3.00
40-49 C 2.00
33-39 D 1.00
0-32 F 0.00
How grade points are determined
First, grades are determined based on the marks obtained in each subject. The following grading system is generally followed in Bangladesh:
Secondly, the Grade Points (GP) obtained for each subject are determined. Grade points for each subject are calculated separately using a mathematical method.
Third, the total grade points are determined by adding the grade points of each subject.
In the last step, the total grade points are divided by the number of subjects covered in the test.
This year's HSC result is being released with special consideration
The HSC exam to be held in 2024 has been prepared under special circumstances. This year's exam was originally scheduled to begin on June 30 but was postponed due to political unrest and protests across the country. Later, 6 exams were canceled due to students' agitation.
The results of the canceled examinations have been determined based on the Secondary School Certificate SSC, and internal evaluation, so that the students are not at a disadvantage later. However, such a decision created some controversy among the students.
How will the subject mapping
If a candidate belongs to the same category in SSC and HSC, the result is prepared on the basis of SSC. Students and parents are more interested to know how the result will be determined if someone moves to commerce or humanities section in HSC after being in science section in SSC.
When asked about the matter, Inter-Education Board Coordination Committee President Professor Tapan Kumar Sarkar said that it is clearly stated in the subject mapping policy. Suppose - someone passed HSC from science department. He scored 85 in Physics there. This time he moved to humanities department in HSC. He may have urban policy or social welfare instead of physics. or any other matter. He will be given the full marks he had in SSC in Physics this time in Municipal Policy.
Similarly someone studied higher maths in SSC, took the exam and scored 75 marks in it. But in HSC he moved to commerce department. Then he will be given that mark in higher mathematics in accountancy or management. In this way, it is in the policy that the candidates who change the category will be considered for which subject instead of which subject. No one will be deprived of it' added Board Chairman Professor Tapan Kumar Sarkar.
He also said that there is no opportunity to create any fog or mystery about it. We have experience of releasing results during Corona. The board has clear policies regarding expert committee, preparation of tabulation sheets and midway cancellation of exams. The board has prepared the result according to the rules. No one should be left out.
