Jumbangla Desk: The police recovered the hanging body of Sukumar Das (80), a servant of Loknath temple in Madhya Mahmudabad village of Barbakunda union in Sitakunda.

According to the police and local sources, in the morning, locals saw Sukumar Das hanging on a rope from an amlaki tree near the house of Madhya Mahmudabad village. When they informed the family members rushed. The police was informed around 9 am. The police recovered the body after receiving information.

Sukumar Das's eldest son Jhantu Das said, 'My father cannot commit suicide. He was killed and hanged from a tree. As his body was attached to the ground, no one can commit suicide by hanging on a rope. For this reason, looking at the condition of the body, I think that the father was killed and hanged.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Sitakunda Police Station. Mojibur Rahman said, 'Sukumar Das' body was recovered from the hanging state after receiving the news. Initially, I prepared a report on the condition of the body. The body has been sent to the morgue for post-mortem to ascertain whether the incident was murder or suicide.
