Rain

There was almost no rain across the country on Monday as the monsoon departed. Meteorologists say that the weather may remain fairly dry for the next few days.

However, isolated rain may occur in some parts of the country. Rain may increase slightly after October 17 under the influence of low pressure.
Shahnaz Sultana, a meteorologist of the Meteorological Department, said, "Monsoonal winds have left the country completely. As a result, the rain has naturally decreased a lot in the country.

Although the weather will be mostly dry for the next few days, there may be isolated rains in some parts of the country. This rain can be mainly due to the combination of easterly and westerly winds.'

About the low pressure created in the Bay of Bengal, Shahnaz Sultana said, it is still far from Bangladesh. It is located in the southeastern Bay of Bengal, towards Myanmar. Due to this, rain may increase after October 17.

In the forecast for the next 72 hours from 6:00 PM on Monday, the Meteorological Department has said that there may be rain with gusty winds or rain with thunder in two places each in Rangpur, Dhaka, Khulna and Barisal divisions on Tuesday. Other parts of the country may experience mainly dry weather with temporary partly cloudy sky. Day temperature may drop slightly across the country today.

The Met Office has said that the extent of rainfall may increase slightly in the next two days (Wednesday and Thursday).

The weather in the country was mainly dry today on Monday. Only one of the 51 observatories of the Meteorological Department spread across the country recorded rain today. The rainfall recorded in Rangpur in the previous 24 hours till 6 pm was only 6 mm.

The highest temperature in the country was at Mongla in Cox's Bazar, Khulna and Bagerhat at 35 degrees Celsius. The maximum temperature recorded in Dhaka at this time was 34 degrees.
