MRT pass can be recharged at home

Mohammad Abdur Rauf, Managing Director of DMTCL, gave this information at a press conference organized at the head office of DMTCL in Uttara of the capital on Monday (October 14) afternoon.

He said that an app is being developed to recharge (top up) the MRT card at home. The deal will be done soon, the matter is in the final stage. Hopefully, I can give good news very soon.

In a press conference, Mohammad Abdur Rauf said that the closed Mirpur-10 station of the metro rail is going to be reopened tomorrow on Tuesday. Advisor Mohammad Fawzul Kabir Khan will inaugurate it tomorrow. At that time he will tell how much has been spent on repairs at this station.

He said that two stations were vandalized on July 19. A report was given on these two stations on August 14. Then the advisor visited two stations. He asked to take action on how to start soon. No contractor or foreigner was needed to fix this station. DMTCL itself fixed two stations.


Earlier it was said that it would take about 300 crore rupees and 1 year to fix these two stations. When asked why such things were said, the managing director said to find out from the person or persons who were saying them.

In response to how it was possible to start the station so soon, he said that the local resources were used. Besides, some items have been taken from some Metrorail stations. DMTCL will not take new money from the government to fix these two stations.

Meanwhile, from next Friday, the metro rail headway (time between two trains) will be reduced to 10 minutes instead of 12 minutes. 72 trains will run instead of 60.

Mohammad Abdur Rauf said, in the changed context, after being launched from August 25 till August 31, the income has been Tk 5 crore. In the month of September, the income was 33 crore 71 lakh taka. And the average income per day is 1 crore 22 lakh taka. In the first 13 days in October, the income was Tk 11 crore 22 lakh. And the average income per day is 86 lakh taka. Due to the four days of holidays in October, the revenue is slightly lower. After 2025 its profit and loss information can be said. Then it will be fully operational till Kamalapur.
