Turkish news agency Anadolu reported on Monday (October 14) that Israeli forces ordered residents of at least 25 villages to leave their homes immediately and move northward. Israeli military spokesman Avichay Adrai told residents of those areas in Lebanon to leave their homes and move north of the Awali River. Residents of these villages will be allowed to return under 'suitable circumstances'.

The villages that have been asked to evacuate are - Borgholieh, Qasmiyeh, Nabi Qasim, Al-Matariyah, Kharayeb, Mazrat Kawthariet el Rez, Ansar, Babliyyah, Deir Takla, Adloun, Ansariyeh, Merwanyeh, Jefta, Bafarueh, Habbouch, Nabatih, Sejoud, Jaba, Ankoun, Banafoul, Kennarit, Zeita, Arnaya, Mazrat Matariet Jaba and Tanborit.

Earlier, the Israeli army ordered people to evacuate several towns in southern Lebanon. Later air and ground attacks were carried out in those areas.

About 2,000 people have been killed and hundreds of thousands injured in the ongoing attacks. In addition, more than 1 million Lebanese have been displaced.
