Fateha-e-Yazdaham is an important event in the Muslim religious community, particularly associated with the Sufi tradition. This day is celebrated for the forgiveness of the Holy Spirit of Hazrat Abdul Quader Jilani (R.H.), one of the most revered figures and great spiritual leaders of Islam, and to commemorate his life's teachings and spiritual guidance.

Hazrat Abdul Quader Jilani (R)
Hazrat Abdul Quader Jilani (R) was a great Islamic scholar, Sufi and spiritual leader; Who was born in 1116 in Baghdad. He is one of the most important figures in Islam and is particularly famous for his contributions to Sufism and spiritual teachings. He is also called as 'Gausul Azam' or 'The Supreme Helper'. According to his teachings, deep faith in Allah, humility and service to humanity were the main aims of life.

Celebration of Fateha-e-Yazdahm
Fateha-e-Yazdahm is held on the 11th of Rabius Suni, the 11th month of the Hijri calendar. The word 'Fateha' means making a special prayer or supplication for the soul of the deceased, and 'Yazdaham' means 11. Hence, Fateha-e-Yazdaham is the Fateha or supplication made on the 11th day of his death anniversary.


On this day, the Muslim community, especially those who believe in the Sufi order, recite the Quran, perform various prayers and supplications in honor of Hazrat Jilani (RA). Commemorating his spiritual teachings and life example, special mahfils are organized in many mosques and khanqahs. Apart from this, special initiatives are taken for charity, distribution of food among the poor and serving humanity.
