Fazal was arrested from Harirampur in Manikganj and Yusuf from Daulatdia Ghat area on Monday (October 14) afternoon. Additional Superintendent of Police (Administration and Finance) Md. Sharif Al Rajib confirmed this.

The deceased Farooq Sardar is the son of village doctor Shahid Sardar of Sohrab Mandalpara of Daulatdia Union of Upazila. Golanda Upazila Chhatra Dal president Rezaul Hasan Mithu said that he is a worker of Daulatdia Union Chhatra Dal.

Due to dominance in the area and previous enmity last Saturday around 9:30 pm, miscreants severely injured Farooq Sardar by hacking him with the sharp sole of a dubbing knife in Daulatdia sex village. He later died at Faridpur Medical College Hospital around 11 pm.

Sumi Akhter, the wife of Farooq, who was killed in the incident, filed a murder case at Goland Ghat police station on Sunday, mentioning the names of 7 people and naming some others as defendants.
