HSC and equivalent results were released on Tuesday (October 15) at 11 am. This information is known from the summary prepared by the inter-education board coordination committee based on the results of all the boards.
The average pass rate in 11 education boards this year is 77.78 percent. Among them, the pass rate of female students is 79 percent and 95 percent. And the pass rate of students is 75.61 percent.
Girls are ahead in terms of getting GPA-5. Out of total 1 lakh 45 thousand 911 students who got GPA-5, 80 thousand 933 are female students. And 64 thousand 978 students.
With this, the girls of the country maintained this streak of success for four consecutive years. They have been ahead for the past 15 years only judging by the pass rate.
According to the data of Bangladesh Education Information and Statistics Bureau, since 2010 girls have been leading in the pass rate of HSC examination.
Last time in 2009, boys were ahead of girls in pass rate. The overall pass rate that year was 74.85 percent and the pass rate for girls was 74.50 percent.
This year, there were 13 lakh 31 thousand 58 candidates in HSC and equivalent examinations in 2 thousand 695 centers of 11 education boards. Among them, 6 lakh 66 thousand 13 students and 6 lakh 65 thousand 45 female students.
The HSC and equivalent exams of 2024 started on June 30. The total number of candidates is more than 14 lakhs. After the seven exams, the movement to reform the quota system in government jobs spread. In this situation, the examination was postponed several times. Six subject exams were left till then. There was no practical test.
Due to the quota reform movement, the then government decided to postpone the rest of the exams and hold them in a new schedule from August 11. Later, Sheikh Hasina's government fell on August 5 in a student uprising. After that, the interim government decided to postpone the exam by a month from September 11 in a new schedule. But on August 20, when some examinees protested and surrounded the secretariat, the education department was forced to cancel this year's HSC or equivalent exams.
The answer sheets are evaluated on the basis of full marks for the subjects in which the examination is conducted. According to the demands of the students, the results of the HSC and equivalent examinations, which were canceled midway, have been prepared by subject mapping on the basis of the results of the SSC and equivalent examinations.
According to the announced results, the average pass rate in HSC and equivalent exams this year is 77.78 percent. Last year the average pass percentage in 11 boards was 78.64 percent. As such, the pass rate has also decreased slightly.
