I was in the anti-discrimination movement from the beginning, now we are being called friends

Jumbangla Desk: Jatiya Party Chairman GM Quader said, 'I have contributed to the anti-discrimination movement, our party has contributed. We actively participated in the movement from the beginning to the last day. Now we are being called friends of fascism.'

Jumbangla Desk: Jatiya Party Chairman GM Quader said, 'I have contributed to the anti-discrimination movement, our party has contributed. We actively participated in the movement from the beginning to the last day. Now we are being called friends of fascism.'

He said these things in the speech of the chief guest at the district and metropolitan Jatiya Party workers' meeting on Monday (October 14) at around 8 pm in the central road of Rangpur city.

GM Quader said, 'I asked them, where is our fault? They said we held the 2014 election, participated in the 2024 election to bring the Awami League to power or legitimized it. That is why we are friends of Awami League. But they do not say that Awami League tried to create division in our party and forced us to come to the election. We have spoken on their behalf in and out of Parliament since the beginning of the anti-discrimination movement. After Abu Sayeed was killed, I went to his house before any political party leader along with the co-chairman of Jatiya Party and former mayor of Rangpur City Corporation Mostafizar Rahman Mostafa. Condolences to Saeed's bereaved family. I promised to help. I have condemned the murder.'

He said, 'We don't just want elections, we also want reforms. If reforms are to happen after fair elections, then the main obstacle is the constitution. If this is not changed, power will once again go to a one-party system. That is why the election should be done after amending the constitution. We want to keep the administration free of partisanship through the participation of all parties. There is no reason to think of Jatiya Party as a small party. Jatiya Party leaders and workers are all over the country. We also have organizational strength in Grameganj.

Jatiya Party co-chairman and former mayor of Rangpur City Corporation Mostafizar Rahman Mustafa presided over the meeting and also addressed the meeting by party's metropolitan general secretary SM Yasir, district member secretary Abdur Razzak and Zapa leader Lokman Hossain.
